A Marketing background, A. Jay started his adult career in Cable Television, producing and directing local television programming. After a corporate upheaval (read as hostile takeover attempt), A. Jay left corporate life and became a publisher of various marketing pieces aimed at promoting communities throughout the country.
A private pilot who flew solo before his 16th birthday and acquiring his driver's license, A. Jay's love of flying, combined with his publishing background, led A. Jay to launch regional aviation publications aimed at the private pilot. It was in this venture that his love of photography resurfaced (having shot for high school and college publications). He began to focus on fashion photography when, through the miracle of the Internet, he met a friend in Billings, Montana. Those that know of A. Jay, will realize what an impact Jacque King has had on A. Jay's direction, drive, and in fact, life.
Having met Jacque, A. Jay began pursuing a photographic career. Meeting Art Ketchum at a seminar at Chicago's Helix Camera store, A. Jay and Art struck up a friendship that continues to this day. In fact, A. Jay shared studio space with Art until the beginning of 1999 when he found space in his home town of Barrington, IL. A suburb just northwest of Chicago.
A. Jay has landed designer accounts, and shoots for them consistently. If you are a model with fashion ambitions, and are at least 5'9" tall, slim, and located in, or traveling to the Chicago area, and would like to work with A. Jay, either email him a picture, or snail mail to the studio. A. Jay also works with a limited number of new models on a testing basis.
